About Michelle

Michelle Richardella is an artist, teacher, mother, and yoga practitioner based in the Chicagoland area. She holds a BA in Education and Visual Arts from St. Xavier University and an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago. Michelle’s personal artistic practice includes community murals, traditional drawing and painting, interactive installations, and mixed media collages. With 15 years of experience in education, she considers her classroom an extension of the artist's studio—a space where creativity becomes a tool for healing, understanding, exploration, and personal growth. Since becoming a mother, she has discovered a new dimension of creativity as a process of care, patience, and constant evolution.

Michelle is interested in mindfulness, slow living, radical acceptance, and the beauty of being present. Through her creative process, she embraces the joy of play, allowing spontaneity and exploration to guide her art. By weaving together vibrant colors, intricate linework, and playful mark-making, her work ranges from abstract and figurative interpretations to realistic depictions of fleeting moments, offering a rich blend of expression that captures both the ephemeral and the enduring.
